Receive and evaluate enginespecific workscopes special work orders and repair orders from Fleet Management product support engineering and/or customers. Provide feedback and translate these into the enterprise ERP tool.
Assess On Wing Supports capability to perform workscopes both inhouse and in the field.
Review engine data to ensure workscope applicability and compliance with Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives meeting regulatory customer and OEM requirements.
Interpret aircraft maintenance manuals engine shop manuals customer requests and other approved technical data into actionable digital formats that can be executed locally within the quality system.
Collaborate with a global team to create regularly review and improve global routers in the SAP/Oasis ERP system.
Partner with production and planning teams to coordinate workscopes for effective engine repairs in the shop or at offsite locations worldwide.
Manage escalations across multiple departments including internal teams and customers to ensure seamless service and workscope execution. Work with the Fleet Management team to escalate workscopes if additional work is found to be necessary.
Undertake longterm engineering projects either as part of a team or individually. Monitor and communicate project status and significant developments.
Participate in crossfunctional teams during Kaizen events.
Understand and interpret procedures from the Aircraft Maintenance Manual and Engine Shop Manual.
Consult with global SAP teams to ensure smooth ERP system operations.
Work closely with the On Wing Support Quality team to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
Additionally the Powerplant Engineer will:
Resolve technical questions from the shop regarding the engine workscope tooling consumables configuration and capability.
Be willing to voice their opinion even if it challenges current practices.
Recommend alternate solutions when faced with challenges.
Required Qualifications
This role requires advanced experience in the Engineering/Technology & Operations. Knowledge level is comparable to a Relevant Engineering degree from an accredited university or college.
Previous experience and knowledge of Aircraft Engine Maintenance Repair and Overhaul.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Established project management skills.
Possess a desire to learn and grow with advances in technology.
Technical knowledge of both large and small commercial engines including workscope evaluation is an advantage.
Experience and familiarity with LEAN principles in the working environment.
Experience collaborating with a global team.
