Job Description

Applied Technology Services (ATS) is an IT systems integrator and has been a trusted partner to customers in the MidAtlantic region for 20 years. ATS provides a wide array of professional and managed services from the data center to the desktop. The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Analyst is an entrylevel position responsible for assisting with identity and accessrelated issues including digital identity account management access management password management single signon and multifactor authentication for both onpremises and cloud environments. The IAM Analyst will support faculty staff students and affiliates across the institution ensuring the smooth operation of IAM initiatives during normal business hours with occasional afterhours support for major upgrades or new application launches.

Under direct supervision the IAM Analyst may also assist with programming script writing report generation testing maintenance and troubleshooting. This role offers a great opportunity to develop technical skills and gain handson experience for those new to the IAM field.

Specific duties & responsibilities:

  • Assist with digital identity account management including creation modification and deletion of user accounts.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of single signon (SSO) and multifactor authentication (MFA) solutions.
  • Support faculty staff students and affiliates with accessrelated issues and inquiries.
  • Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of IAM systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure compliance with IAM policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate on the development and execution of IAMrelated projects and initiatives.
  • Assist in the generation of reports and analysis of IAM metrics.
  • Support the testing and deployment of IAM software updates and patches.
  • Assist with programming and script writing for IAM automation tasks.
  • Collaborate in the creation and updating of IAM documentation and training materials.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.


Minimum qualifications (mandatory):

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience to the extent the JHU equivalency formula permits.

Preferred qualifications:

Technical qualifications and specialized certifications:

  • Basic understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles and technologies.
  • Familiarity with single signon (SSO) and multifactor authentication (MFA) solutions (Microsoft Authenticator OKTA Passwordless signin Hardware tokens Security Keys like YubiKey and timebased onetime passwords (TOTP)).
  • Knowledge of common IAM tools and platforms (e.g. Active Directory LDAP Azure AD Microsoft Entra ID).
  • Basic programming or scripting skills (e.g. PowerShell SQL Python Perl).
  • Understanding of security best practices and compliance standards.

Any specific physical requirements for the job:

  • Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods
  • Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s) for example using a keyboard
  • Occasionally lifting carrying objects weighing 10lbs. or less
  • Occasionally pushing and pulling objects weighing 30lbs. or less
