Description

The Area Plan is developed by the Area Presidency and sets their vision for the area. The Longterm Resource Plan (LTRP) creates a plan for Church growth in an area and the resources needed to support growth in a simple and affordable way. The Area Planning Manager (APM) is a critical role supporting the Area Presidency and director for temporal affairs (DTA) that identifies opportunities to enhance ecclesiastical and operational performance based on detailed analysis of data and trends. Additionally after priority opportunities and insights are generated the APM leads projects to design and test solutions for broadscale implementation including process improvements that may lead to automation. By implementing the recommended solutions and evaluating their success progress towards achieving the temporal and ecclesiastical goals outlined in the Area Plan and LTRP will be improved.



Responsibilities
  • Participate in the development of the LTRP under the direction of the DTA and Area Presidency and identify key gaps to achieving the Area Plan. (10%)
  • Use internal data analysis and external benchmarking analysis to accomplish these responsibilities: Support and inform the Area Plan (30%)
  • Achieve operational plans in a simple and affordable way to strengthen selfreliance (20%)
  • Develop and test solutions and implement plans for those solutions to address performance gaps. (40%)
  • Demonstrate an ability to accomplish multiple projects and deliver high quality work with little direction.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Relevant bachelors degree required masters degree preferred.
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant postdegree work experience including making presentations to seniorlevel executives
  • The ideal candidate has worked for a strategy consulting firm or an internal strategy group.
  • The candidate must have excellent data analysis skills using analytical software (e.g. Excel Tableau Power Bl) and expertise presenting highlevel proposals using PowerPoint.
  • A knowledge of Church organization and how to effectively work with different departments and divisions both in the area and at Church headquarters.
  • French language capability a plus

Additional Employment Criteria:

  1. Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship
  2. Must be able to reside in Calgary Alberta while employed in this role
