Location: Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre Hobart
Employment status:Casual
Classification: DKHAC Level 2
Agreement: Hobart City Council Enterprise Agreement 2024
Salary range: $38.69 per hour inclusive of sessional rates andcasual loading 13% superannuation.

About the role
We are currently seeking a passionate and enthusiasticGym and Fitness Instructor to join the Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre to assist with the delivery of our fitness programs to clients. Whether you are experienced or new to this industry if you are hardworking and love all things fitness then we want you!
Are you ready to pump the energy up as a gym instructor Join our team of fitness enthusiasts and inspire others to unleash their inner strength!
In this role you will deliver freestyle group fitness programs and/or gym floor supervision. You will have a positive and energetic attitude will deliver a high level of customer service and will play a role in communicating and promoting centre programs and overall fitness facilities.
This role will ensure the health and wellbeing of the patrons of the facilities in the aquatic centre at all times.
Role accountabilities include:
- Support and grow the delivery of highquality programs.
- Maintain effective supervision of the DKHAC gymnasium to ensure the safety of all issues.
- Monitor and record gymnasium and group fitness usage through the relevant applications.
- Perform preactivity screening and advise on appropriate exercise interventions.
- Conduct Client Inductions Personal Training Rehabilitation sessions and Group Fitness sessions.

About you

- You have an enthusiastic approach willingness to learn and seek innovative solutions when faced with challenges.
Relevant Industry Qualifications are essential for this role. Qualifications required include:
- Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP)
- Current CPR Certificate
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Certificate III in Fitness or equivalent AQF qualification in a relevant area of practice
Whilst experience is preferred we welcome applications from people who love working with kids in a fun teambased environment and who are ready to seek new knowledge.
We would ideally love it if you were available for up to 7 days to cover our existing group fitness classes and gym floor shifts however also understand that sometimes life just happens. Our ideal candidate will be flexible and we would also work with you for when you need your days off.
