Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Remedial Teacher to provide individualized support to students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Clinical Psychology (B.A./M.A. and expertise in remedial education life skills training and counseling.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Remedial Education:
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students requiring academic support.
- Conduct remedial sessions focusing on core subjects language development and cognitive skills.
- Use creative and evidencebased teaching methods to address students unique learning challenges.
2. Life Skills Training:
- Develop and deliver life skills programs to enhance students emotional intelligence problemsolving abilities and social skills.
- Conduct engaging activities to help students build selfesteem resilience and interpersonal relationships.
3. Counseling Services:
- Provide oneonone counseling for students dealing with academic emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Conduct group sessions to address common concerns such as stress management peer relationships and coping strategies.
- Work closely with parents and teachers to ensure a collaborative approach to student wellbeing.
4. Assessment and Reporting:
- Assess students academic progress emotional wellbeing and social development.
- Maintain detailed records of sessions and progress reports for stakeholders.
and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with teachers coordinators and parents to identify students needing support and provide appropriate interventions.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions for teachers and parents on understanding and supporting children with special needs.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: B.A./M.A. in Clinical Psychology.
- Experience:
- Prior experience in remedial teaching life skills training or student counseling (preferred).
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices and child psychology.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to create a supportive and nurturing environment for students.
- Familiarity with different learning disabilities behavioral challenges and intervention strategies.
- Proficiency in developing customized lesson plans and activities.
