Under the general supervision of the Director of Facilities the maintenance custodian will perform a wide variety of custodial and maintenance duties in order to provide a clean orderly and safe environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if work is similar related or a logical assignment to the position. 1. The Maintenance Custodian performs custodial and maintenance duties in and around the facility; troubleshoots performs minor repairs and responds to emergency calls for service. 2. Schedules coordinates directs and performs routine and comprehensive custodial maintenance. 3. Vacuums shampoos and spot clean carpets and furniture; wash windows; disinfect restrooms; remove trash; restock supplies as needed. 4. Performs various maintenance and custodial duties such as installation and repair to fixtures in restrooms labs and classrooms. 5. Troubleshoots and repairs minor plumbing and electrical problems; replaces a variety of light bulbs and lighting accessories. 6. Groundskeeping duties as required. 7. Operates power equipment such as forklifts carpet extractors pressure washers hand and power tools and campus vehicles. 8. Performs preventative maintenance in and around facilities. 9. Directs the work of coopstudents and shortterm noncontinuing employees. 10. Any other relative custodial and maintenance duties as required.
