The Supervisor of Maintenance and Trade provides leadership and handson support for the planning coordination and execution of maintenance operations across campus facilities. This role oversees skilled and semiskilled trade personnel responsible for HVAC electrical plumbing carpentry and general maintenance. The Supervisor ensures the delivery of highquality services that support a safe functional and welcoming university environment for students faculty staff and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Supervise schedule and coordinate daily operations of maintenance and trade teams.
- Monitor and manage performance of staff in accordance with university standards and policies.
- Prioritize and assign work orders; ensure timely and quality completion of maintenance tasks.
- Conduct routine inspections of buildings systems and infrastructure to ensure operational integrity.
- Collaborate with contractors and vendors on specialized maintenance and repair projects.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed materials used and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes regulations and safety standards.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues including afterhours and holidays.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the life of university assets.
- Recommend and manage procurement of materials tools and supplies.
- Oversee building systems team supervision and preventive maintenance programs.
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; Associates or technical degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or trades including 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions including rain sleet or snow.
- Must be available to work during various holidays weekends and university emergency situations.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
