Job Description

Reporting to the Assistant Director Finance & Business Support responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

 Maintain system of accounts and controls providing accurate data necessary for all required accounting reports and statements.
 Assist in the implementation and completion of special projects as assigned by the DOF/ADOF.

 Oversight of the Labor Management system ensuring labor standards are accurate and adhered.
 Prepare month end journal entries ensuring efficient completion of all monthend functions.
 Assist in the completion of financial statements management reports in accordance with Corporate Policies & Procedures for review.
 Assist in the preparation of monthend balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis.
 Assist in the development of Operational Leaders in the interpretation orientation training and analysis of financial procedures and decision making.
 Coordinate and ensure that all daily semimonthly and monthly management reports are issued on a timely and accurate basis.
 Participate in the creation of the Annual Operating & Capital Budgets Strategic Plan and Monthly Operating Forecasts.

 Assist in the effective utilization and integration of hotel and accounting technology systems including software applications current and future. 

 Develop an engaged enthusiastic and guestfocused department.
 Recruit develop evaluate and motivate the team.
 Represent the Accounting office and the Assistant Director in their absence.
 Actively contribute to hotel overall leadership and direction.
 Other tasks as assigned.

Salary Range: $97500$117000

 


Qualifications :

 Professional designation or acceptable university degree with an appropriate specialization in Accounting or enrolled in a recognized accounting program with progression to 3rd or 4th level preferred.
 Minimum of 3 yearsaccounting experience and at least 2 years previous accounting experience at a supervisory/managerial level.
 Proven leadership and coaching skills with a track record of developing a highly motivated and crosstrained group of progressive accounting professionals.
 Familiarity with hotel operating systems and software including Sun Systems Hyperion Microsoft Office (especially Excel) Silverware Birchstreet Watson Day Force Opera PMS Excel.
 Excellent administrative interpersonal organizational written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Seated computer work including constant keyboarding and mousing
  • Occasional lifting up to 25lbs
