Job Description

Facilities and Business Operations:

Facilities and Business Operations is committed to providing service to faculty staff students and the community by creating maintaining and protecting the educational environment of the university. We support the goals of UCF by being a leader in providing worldclass expertise and service.

The Opportunity:

UCF is seeking to fill multiple roles for the Parking Patroller. Candidates for this job posting will be considered for additional vacancies in this department. The Parking Patroller position is integral to ensuring compliance with UCF regulations 6.007 and 6.008 as it pertains to vehicles having a valid permit when parked on campus. They are responsible for maintaining fair and equitable parking enforcement through established Florida state statutes and local ordinances with an understanding of 80 variations of parking citations. The parking enforcement team is also responsible for operating trucks equipped with license plate recognition (LPR) software throughout 12 garages and 40 lots across 4 campuses to ensure permit compliance and to promote public safety. In addition parking enforcement also provides motorist assists to the UCF community such as battery jumps tire inflation and door openings.

Responsibilities:

  • Enforce parking regulations to ensure compliance with UCF policies and Florida state statutes including installing immobilization devices on vehicles with multiple unpaid citations.

  • Provide information directions and assistance to constituents; help stranded motorists by unlocking vehicles providing fuel or calling for tow services as needed.

  • Ensure the operational readiness of LPR software and report any issues to the supervisor.

  • Offer feedback on enforcement situations and follow up on written requests; report suspicious activity to the university police department.

  • Assist in training new parking patrollers and conduct new employee orientation as necessary.

  • Monitor and maintain patrol vehicle assignments and citation issuance devices.

  • Initiate towing of illegally parked vehicles particularly in reserved spaces or during special events and complete towing reports.

  • Archive documentation related to towing incidents and assist with space reservations for special guests or events.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 0 years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6). Click here for more information

Position requires a valid Class E drivers license. The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
