What Youll Deliver:

In this critical role you will provide technical expertise in mechanical engineering for various municipal water and wastewater projects across Brisbane Greater Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast Region. Your contributions will focus on the design and implementation of sustainable and efficient mechanical solutions.

  • Mechanical Design:Lead and/or support the design and analysis of mechanical systems related to water and wastewater treatment facilities and systems including pumps valves piping systems and mechanical equipment associated with treatment processes.
  • Innovative Solutions:Develop and implement innovative mechanical engineering strategies that enhance the performance reliability and efficiency of water and wastewater systems.
  • Regulatory Compliance:Ensure compliance with local state and national regulatory frameworks and standards in all mechanical designs and applications.
  • DataDriven Decision Making:Utilise modelling and analysis tools to evaluate system performance and make informed recommendations for mechanical system enhancements and optimisations.
  • Collaboration:Work closely with civil electrical and process engineers to ensure cohesive project delivery and coordination across multiple disciplines.
  • Sustainable Engineering Practices:Champion sustainable practices in mechanical design focusing on energy efficiency resource recovery and reducing the environmental impact of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure.

What Youll Bring to the Table:

This role requires a strong background in mechanical engineering with a focus on water and wastewater systems as well as a collaborative clientfocused approach. You will contribute:

  • Extensive Experience:A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering specifically related to municipal water and wastewater projects with a proven track record in the design and delivery of mechanical systems.
  • Technical Acumen:Indepth knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics fluid dynamics and mechanical component selection for water and wastewater applications.
  • Regulatory Understanding:Familiarity with applicable industry standards and regulations governing municipal water and wastewater systems.
  • Analytical Skills:Strong problemsolving abilities and experience in conducting feasibility studies design analyses and lifecycle assessments for mechanical systems.
  • Qualifications:Chartered Professional Engineer status is desirable or a commitment to achieving this recognition.
  • Passion for Sustainability:A commitment to developing mechanical engineering solutions that support environmental sustainability and enhance community wellbeing.
