Description

RPO Recruitments Client is urgently seeking the expertise of an Technical Manager in the Northern Cape. The successful candidate will estimates material labour and overhead costs to establish costs of products required for mining execution. Conducts pricing comparisons and feasibility studies and contributes to tender preparation. Ensure that the project is executed on time profitable and within budget. Will also look after Production Reporting planning surveying commercial and technical systems on site while ensure adherence to the Contract Agreement.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist to ensure that the Project is managed according to the tender document.
  • Measure and calculate quantities of Production activities.
  • Optimization of resources and productivity.
  • Manage the short medium and longterm planning and mine scheduling function.
  • Oversee all technical systems (Pit Control / Dispatch etc.).
  • Oversee the Survey Department.
  • Liaise with the Client on contractual matters and establish good relationships.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasts.
  • Produce weekly and monthly reports and presentations for various stakeholders.
  • Produce the monthly Payment Certificate.
  • Assist in managing any commercial / contractual claims and payment queries.
  • Provides leadership and advise on operational efficiency and quality standards.
  • Advise on safety standards and ensure those are always maintained.
  • Ensures adherence to the SHEQ policies and procedures and to the Risk Framework.
  • Responsible for effective implementation and management of all relevant people management processes within the Department.
  • Plans and develops talent and skills pipelines for the future skill requirements.
  • Train personnel implement and maintain Plant Maintenance Systems (AMT).
  • Consequence management promptly taken as per disciplinary code when needed.
  • Attendance and absenteeism especially sick leave abuse is effectively managed. Leave schedules implemented and managed.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or Equivalent.
  • Mining Engineering Degree.
  • Project Management Certificate.
  • Survey qualification would be advantageous.
  • Blasting or Rock Breaking Certificate preferrable.
  • Legal Liability certificate.
  • 5 years plus experience in project management in an Opencast Mining Environment.
  • 5 years experience in cost estimation and cost accounting and revenue.
  • 3 years plus Mining operations experience and Operations Planning experience.
  • No criminal record.
  • Valid Drivers license.
