About the Role
The Stitch Fix Inventory and Fulfillment Innovation team is looking for a bright and kind Software Engineer to join us as we revolutionize how Stitch Fix creates and manages inventory assortments to serve every clients unique style. Our work is core to Stitch Fixs biggest ambitions for the next decade: building innovative inventory models and fulfillment methods that dramatically expand our ability to serve an infinite range of personal styles.
Youll help us move rapidly from scrappy proofofconcept releases to scalable productionready systems. This role will collaborate closely with partners across merchandising operations finance algorithms and data platform engineering to power our business with lowlatency highly available and accurate inventory systems.

Were excited about you because
- You bring 25 years of backend engineering experience delivering production services; familiarity with ecommerce logistics SaaS or platformoriented systems is a plus.
- Youre fluent in at least one modern systems languageour core stack is Go and Rubyand have proven skill with relational databases (e.g. Postgres MySQL) plus a knack for picking up new technologies fast.
- You have solid CS foundations (data structures concurrency networking) and you are comfortable analyzing performance on tier1 hightraffic APIs.
- You write clean testdriven code and you leave the codebase clearer betterdocumented and easier to observe than you found it.
- You ship with confidenceusing CI/CD pipelines feature flags canary releases and swift rollbacks to deploy safely and keep our performance metrics healthy.
- Youve run production services on a major cloud platformAWS GCP Azure or similarand are comfortable with modern observability stacks like Datadog.
- You have familiarity with eventdriven or streaming architecturesKafka Pub/Sub etc.
- You enjoy digging through unfamiliar services logs and metrics to find and fix root causes fast.
- You are a clear communicator and a collaborative teammate: you translate technical tradeoffs into business terms give/receive thoughtful code reviews and work easily with product and ops.
- You exhibit a strong growth mindset: you actively seek feedback mentor where you can and share knowledge to raise the whole teams bar.

Compensation and Benefits
This role will receive a competitive salary and benefits. The salary for USbased employees will be aligned with the range below which includes our three geographic areas. A variety of factors are considered when determining someones compensationincluding a candidates professional background experience location and position is eligible for an annual cash award depending on employee and company performance.
