As a Natural Resource Specialist 1 (Project Biologist) in Springfield Oregon you will act as a project assistant within the Native Fish Investigations Program by providing technical support for research and monitoring activities for Bull Trout in the Willamette Basin. These research activities provide valuable data that inform the decisions of managers of Fish Division programs regional supervisors the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Forest Service. Duties include:

  • Independent collection of data

  • Conduct office and field work

  • Supervise the work of 13 Biological Science Assistants

  • Assist in crew training and the development of work schedules

  • Contribute to quality control of collected data data entry and summary analysis

  • Assist in the preparation of annual reports.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelors degree in Fisheries or Wildlife Science or a closelyrelated Bachelors degree with at least 45 quarter (30 semester) hours of biological/ecological coursework;

OR

Three years of biological experience performing studies research or resource management activities in a fish or wildlife program.
