Pr0IT System Administrator

QTEC Aerospace is seeking an IT SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR to join our team of professionals in Colorado Springs CO. The successful candidate will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS) with a mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The successful candidate will be detail oriented have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.

Job Summary

QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multicontractor team providing program engineering and technical support to Missile Defense programs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:

• Operate maintain and manage Windows/Linuxbased domain supporting a software development environment
• Responsible for the overall daytoday operations of the Windows/Linux environment and is responsible for backup and recovery (to include disaster recovery) of system data
• Ensure all data is being backed up per COOP and BCP
• Ensure backup system is functioning correctly and periodically test the backup system by restoring files
• Respond appropriately to any security or virus incident discovered in the system
• Install configure monitor manage and maintain all Windows/Linux based servers
• Create and maintain Windows/Linux system administration processes and procedures
• Install configure manage and maintain all Windows/Linux serverbased applications
• Ensure all Windows/Linux based systems have the appropriate patches installed includes but is not limited to security applications and OS
• Ensure all Windows/Linux based systems are running current versions of antivirus software with current virus definition files
• Create manage and maintain group policy objects security groups user accounts
• Monitor manage and maintain storage systems and devices
• Recommend system enhancements including but not limited to servers applications storage processes and procedures
• Recommend when additional system resources are required or when existing resources should be retired
• Ensure all appropriate asset management functions are completed as required
• All other tasks as assigned by the IT site lead or IT manager Secondary Responsibilities
• Assist the help desk respond to end user requests/issues
• May function in project leadership roles and represents the organization as prime customer contact on significant technical matters on contracts

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelors degree with at least 9 years of experience or equivalent or an advanced degree with at least 7 years of experience

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Senior Windows Domain experience
• Experience in Windows and Linux system administration System Security Implementations Network Attached Storage administration and IBM Server Backup administration
• Technical skills supporting a Windows environment including server setup deployment maintenance and hardening
• Must also have a background/knowledge of a Linux environment and administration
• Must have working knowledge of Agile principles and practices
• Understanding of configuration managed PlatformasaService (PaaS)
• Understanding of ITs role is in Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) and how it can be applied to PaaS
• Knowledge of applying containers (Docker) and use of container orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
• Selfstarter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Desired Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of the following: Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) MultiFactor Authentication implementation OpenShift OpenStack VMware ESXI QAS/VAS Windows Active Directory Backup and Recovery Containers and Container Orchestration products
• Knowledge of Git Nexus Jenkins Jira and Confluence
• Understand the concept of PaaS and SaaS
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery and how it applies to IT and IT products

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.

Salary Range

The below salary range represents a general guideline; however QTEC considers a number of factors when determining base salary such as the scope and responsibilities of the position as well as the candidates experience education skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Salary Range: $120000 $183000
