Staff Software Engineer

The Staff Software Engineer will spearhead development maintenance and optimization of full stack applications. They will proactively collaborate with Architecture Automation and DevOps teams on the design infrastructure and deployment of applications to production.
*This is a hybrid position 2 days/week onsite at our HQ in Quincy MA. We will not be considering remote candidates for this position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Technical ownership of missioncritical software applications and services as part of an agile team
- Project leader for crossfunctional collaboration with data scientists business users product managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions
- Organize and project plan for continuousmaintenance support and enhancements for existing systems and platforms
- Solve a wide range of technical problems from architecting new software applications to finding and addressing issues in production
- Engage in code reviews and mentoring of less experienced engineers
- Collaborate with Architecture on system design and development roadmaps
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree or equivalent required Bachelors degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience as a software engineer
- Strong command of the Java programming language
- Advanced knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Significant experience working with frontend technologies within the past 3 years; JavaScript/TypeScript AngularJS
- Comfortable with AWS environments
- Hands on experience working with automated testing frameworks
- Experience building REST APIs and integrating with backend services
- Advanced understanding of objectoriented programming system design data structures algorithms and mobile application architecture
Office Based Physical Demands
- Constantly reach to use computers monitors and other office equipment
- Constantly need to view objects at close and distant ranges
- Constantly communicate with others verbally and in writing
- Frequently required to sit or stand
- This position functions in an office and technical environment and requires fine manipulation and simple grasping toutilize the computer and other standard office equipment.
- Required occasional lifting and transporting of items weighing up to 25 lbs.
