Provides technical support to internal Vertiv functions
Collaborate across diverse engineering disciplines including mechanical electrical reliability compliance process as well as with production service quality and offering teams. Work with these teams for design reviews root cause analysis meeting cost metrics and brainstorming around internal customer pain points.
Create/modify electrical and mechanical parts/assemblies/drawings in CAD systems such as Creo and/or SolidWorks
Create and maintain Bill of Materials released using PLM tools such as Oracle PD Cloud
Submit engineering change orders and deviations releasing design changes including BOM and CAD documentation
Perform engineering analysis using DMAIC methodology tools such as Fishbone 5Why Pareto Process Capability FMEA Control Plan and Design of Experiment
Develop Standard Work and document troubleshooting steps experimental results corrective actions taken and decision making in Smartsheet
Promote ideas for quality improvement and cost reduction as part of continuous improvement initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar related degree
5 years of engineering product development testing or support experience
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a crossfunctional team
Proficient in 3D CAD software preferred CREO 4.0 and greater
Experience with Mentor Graphics or Cadence CAD tools a plus
Ability to understand electronic and electrical schematics and basic circuitry function is preferred
Ability to operate lab equipment such as oscilloscopes data loggers power sources etc.
Strong background in electronic component testing and qualification is preferred
Familiarity with IPC UL FCC CE and related conformance testing and standards is preferred but not required
Good communication technical writing and documentation skills. Fluency in English is required
