Job Description

We are looking for an efficient and organised Preassessment Clinical Coordinator to provide support to stakeholders in the PreAssessment Unit. The right candidate will promote the safety culture of the Hospital by ensuring that all patients had undergone the relevant tests preoperatively specially during the Stage 1 preassessment process.

The person will work closely with all internal / external departments to help deliver an exceptional service to patients and consultants. They will also ensure that all Hospital values policies and procedures are upheld and always maintained.

Located in leafy St Johns Wood on the Jubilee line minutes from Central London our independent private Hospital has just been rated the number one in the country for care in the latest Bupa survey. Uniquely all profits fund our onsite Hospice St Johns.

Am I the right person for this Imaging Administrator role

  • Extensive experience of working in a clinical setting.
  • Extensive experience in preoperative investigations including ECGs phlebotomy and other clinical procedures
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work without direct supervision within the bounds of the Health Care Assistant role.
  • Demonstrable experience in personal time management and coordination of workload to ensure all duties are covered and complete within given timeframes
  • Motivated and Enthusiastic
  • Computer literate
  • Good health record
  • Flexibility to work internal rotation including nights and weekends.

What are the Responsibilities of this Imaging Administrator role

  • To be responsible for carrying out the relevant investigations required for Stage 1 patients who will be undergoing surgery in the near future at the Hospital.
  • To be responsible for coordinating home test kits for patients who will be undergoing surgery at the Hospital.
  • To liaise with patients to remind them when to do the swabs and guide them through as necessary.
  • To coordinate the results of patients who have had preoperative tests undertaken in an alternative health care organisation and include them in the daily email and/or onto patients Lifebox as necessary.
  • To clean and ensure all equipment is safe and has been approved for use by the appropriate people.
  • To do daily quality check of the machine or equipment to be used
  • To follow Hospital and national guidelines in PreAssessment investigations.
  • To be competent and skilled in completing the following preoperative tests phlebotomy ECG screening swabs and baseline observations.
  • To be competent in the following IT systems; word outlook EPOA Lifebox.
  • To do assisted lifebox to patients whenever necessary
  • To complete clinical validation with patients who are having procedure under local or minor procedure
  • To be competent in accessing TDL
  • To be competent in the use iPMS
  • To establish a rapport with the patient and an awareness of the individuals needs ensuring these are communicated to appropriate personnel if required.
  • To represent the PreAssessment department in relevant Hospital committees and be able to feedback to the team as necessary.
  • To escalate any concerns to relevant staff of any safeguarding issues
  • Proactively and positively contribute to the achievement of clinical outcomes through individual and team effort. Manage the patient experience and control risks with the focus being on delivering excellent customer service as a front line of the team.
  • To maintain a high standard of record keeping which must be kept in the preassessment office.
  • To be responsible for highlighting any issues concerning preassessment to the Pre assessment Nurse Manager Deputy Pre assessment Nurse Manager or the PreAssessment Nursing staff.
