Job Description

Work. Are you a seasoned professional driven by a passion for environmental risk management and operational efficiency Come and join Sunwater as a Senior Environmental Business Partner based at our Rockhampton office where you will provide professional support to the Sunwater business in relation to the management of environmental risk and ensure fit for purpose systems and procedures are in place to provide assurance regarding environmental compliance.

In addition you will:

  • Provide environmental support and advice to project planning and operational groups within the business.
  • Provide advice on management of environmental risks which affect a water supply business operating in regional areas spread across Queensland including incident reporting and followup.
  • Ensure measures are in place to provide assurance in relation to Sunwaters compliance with the terms of its environmental approvals licences or permits.
  • Ensure that a fit for purpose Environmental Management System is implemented maintained and continuously improved in accordance with the requirements of the AS/NZS ISO 14001 standard and undertake related reviews and audits.

Please note that due to the nature of this role there will be travel involved to other Sunwater regional assets within the Central region.

We are seeking a skilled professional with demonstrated experience in environmental management practices of commercial business organisations including an understanding of sustainability environmental legislation natural resources management and current industry practices and technology. The ideal candidate will have 5 years experience in a similar role tertiary qualifications in relevant environmental disciple and demonstrated proficiency in the maintenance of ISOaccredited environmental management systems.

In addition you will have the following skills:

  • Stakeholder Management Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to establish and maintain professional business relationships with key stakeholders and regulators.
  • Effective Communication Highly developed written communication skills including extensive experience developing concise procedures technical and scientific reports on complex issues.
  • Analytical Thinking The ability to use analysis and research to formulate strategies and practices to minimise environmental impacts.

This is a fulltime opportunity based at our Rockhampton office.
