Job Title: Lead GSRP/Kindergarten Teacher

Start Date: As Per Contract 2025/2026 School Year
Position Overview:
Nottawa Community School is seeking a passionate dedicated and highly qualified teacher to serve as the Lead GSRP (Great Start Readiness Program) Teacher in the mornings and a Kindergarten Teacher in the afternoons. This unique fulltime role offers the opportunity to work with young learners during critical stages of their early development in a supportive communityfocused environment.
Essential Duties:
- Establishes and maintains a positive respectful classroom environment by implementing clear expectations and utilizing a positive behavior support system.
- Utilizes a variety of teaching strategies within a multitiered system of support (MTSS) to promote student success.
- Identifies individual student needs and collaborates with staff to implement appropriate supports including referrals and contributions to individualized education plans (IEPs) when necessary.
- Oversees and coordinates the activities of paraprofessionals associate teachers and volunteers in the classroom and during field trips.
- Carry out duties under the supervision of the Early Childhood Administrator.
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
Morning (GSRP Lead Teacher):
- Implement a highquality preschool program following GSRP guidelines and curriculum.
- Develop and maintain a positive developmentally appropriate classroom environment for 4yearolds.
- Collaborate with an associate teacher to ensure effective instruction and supervision.
- Conduct child assessments and maintain accurate documentation.
- Engage families in their childs learning and development through regular communication and family involvement activities.
Afternoon (Kindergarten Teacher):
- Provide engaging and developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with Michigan state standards.
- Foster a nurturing structured classroom that promotes academic and socialemotional growth.
- Design and implement lessons across core subject areas.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs.
- Communicate regularly with families about student progress and classroom activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education Elementary Education or a related field.
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements (ZA/ZS preferred for GSRP).
- Meets all GSRP lead teacher requirements per Michigan Department of Education.
- Experience working with preschool and/or Kindergartenaged children.
- Strong interpersonal skills a collaborative mindset and a passion for early childhood education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in education or related field.
- Familiarity with Creative Curriculum COR Advantage and GSRP compliance procedures.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
