QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold proper state license.
EDUCATION:
Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
EXPERIENCE:
Successful prior special education teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.

Principal and/or other Supervisor
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Reviews assessments of students for the purpose of identifying learning issues and recommending courses of action or corrective procedures to overcome issues and maximize learning.
- Assists students and teaching staff in implementing interventions and behavior management plans.
- Coordinates with administrators and other teaching staff members to ascertain individual students abilities and needs including students with special needs and to familiarize stakeholders with social work services.
- Serves as a ready resource to students and parents to provide interventions that will lead each student to increased personal growth selfunderstanding and behavioral management.
- Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete recordkeeping.
- Encourages parental involvement in students education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- Selects and requisitions appropriate books aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom he or she is responsible.
- Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students varying needs and interests.
- Establish clear objectives for all lessons units and projects and communicate those objectives tostudents.
- Prepare administer and grade tests and assignments in order to evaluate students progress.
- Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their childrens progress.
- Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students needs and progress.
- Use computers audiovisual aids and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations.
- Prepare reports on students and activities as required by administration.
- Attend professional meetings educational conferences and teacher training workshops in order tomaintain and improve professional competence.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
