Associate Panel Assembler Spectrolab Inc.

Spectrolab Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Companys Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) business unit has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Panel Assembler to join our dynamic team in Sylmar California.

Spectrolab is the worlds leading merchant supplier of the highest efficiency multijunction solar cells for spacecraft power systems with proven reliability drawn from 65 years of space heritage. Spectrolabs stateoftheart space solar cells and panels power satellites in Earths orbit as well as the International Space Station.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies subassemblies and aircraft systems equipment and accessories using manual operations

  • Performs such processes necessary for the fabrication and production of Solar Cells including wiring processes soldering welding adhesive mixing and applications component bonding and abrading of substrates

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • More than 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment

  • Ability to read and interpret system prints and schematics

  • Experience soldering and terminating wiring

  • Basic computer experience and competency

  • Capable of lifting 20lbs or more on a frequent basis

  • Experience in the use of chemicals for build preparation

  • Experience with MRP data applications for closure of work completed

  • Experience with Stamp Warranty

  • Experience using shop processes to include Foreign Object Damage/Debris (FOD) prevention material handling safety and calibration requirements

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED

  • More than 1 year of experience in wire stripping crimping soldering and welding

  • Experience in JSTD001 Soldering

Work Location:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
