The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is seeking to fill a Supervisory Fisheries Biologist vacancy in the Jonesboro area.
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is housed within the Fisheries Management Section and works out of the Jonesboro headquarters serving Region C the Grand Lake Region. This is professional services and scientific work at the supervisory level involving management of the States inland fisheries by protecting preserving and enhancing Maines natural resources. Responsibilities include planning coordination implementation and supervision of the regional work program and implementation of statewide work programs. This position is the lead of a threeperson team and reports to the Fisheries Management Section Supervisor in carrying out departmental goals and objectives. The scope of work is broad with varying levels of complexity. Work is performed under limited supervision outside in all weather conditions and periodically during nights and weekends.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelors Degree in Biology Fisheries or Wildlife Management or related field AND two (2) years of progressively responsible related laboratory or field research and/or management experience. Equivalent experience may be substituted for education on a yearforyear basis.

2. Briefly describe your experience inventorying surveying and monitoring inland fisheries resources.
3. Briefly describe your experience communicating both orally and in writing with lay and technical audiences.
4. Briefly describe your experience working with fisheries related data including acknowledgement of the database and analysis software programs with which you have direct experience.
5. Briefly describe your experience and role in creating and/or maintaining relationships with State/Federal/Tribal governments/agencies outside partners and public interest groups on fisheries related issues.
