SUMMARY:
In collaboration with the Clinical Quality Assurance Leadership team the Quality Assurance Manager will ensure adherence with The People Concerns philosophies and current standards for quality of care and other requirements as defined by Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (DMH) and LA Care. This position will oversee the supervision of the Quality Assurance Specialists and provide project management leadership and training to all staff around quality assurance standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the agencys adherence to Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LAC DMH) and LA Care Enhanced Care Management (ECM) policies and procedures.
- Assist with the preparation of federal state county and/or city audits.
- Coordinate develop and assist with delivery of ongoing trainings and resources to Mental Health staff on Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LAC DMH) and LA Care Enhanced Care Management (ECM) documentation standards and EXYM workflows.
- Supervise Quality Assurance Specialists through weekly structured supervisions and providing ongoing support growth and accountability of staff.
- Responsible for data collection and reporting.
- Manage monitor and train DMH program staff on Service Request Logs (SRL). Reconcile internal and external data sources to remain in compliance with DMH policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the maintenance of Network Adequacy Provider & Practitioner Administration (NAPPA) monthly and as needed.
- Assist with processing records request received by the Agency.
- Assist with the administration of Electronic Health Record EYXM.
- Identify and lead implementation of process improvement projects.
- Complete monthly and as needed file reviews for COS and Mental Health charts.
- Collaborate and consult effectively with all levels of staff in Clinical Quality Assurance Billing Mental Health and any other staff/programs to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- Attend scheduled and asneeded internal and external trainings and meetings.
- Adhere to The People Concern personnel policies.
- Other duties not specified in the position description as requested by the Director or Assistant Director of Clinical Quality Assurance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years experience ensuring adherence to Los Angeles County and State standards to chart documentation for respective funding sources specifically MediCal and LA County DMH
- Excellent written and oral communications skills ability to develop and conduct training sessions and ability to assist with developing policies and procedures: (i.e. data entry/support services)
- Knowledge of HIPAA standards and practices
- Knowledge of Electronic Health Record
- Possess attention to detail ability to be thorough and accurate
- Able to work effectively both individually and as part of a team
- Strong communication interpersonal and team building skills
- Possess the ability to be a skilled trainer perform virtual (Zoom) and inperson training presentations and develop effective training materials.
- Outstanding organizational and project management skills with thorough knowledge of nonprofit service provision and administration
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to work independently and creatively
- Must possess a valid California Drivers license and maintain an insurable driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Two years of leadership/management experience in a supervisory role preferred
- Knowledge of Electronic Health Record (Exym preferred)
Work Environment:
- Field (may need to travel to other agency sites/offices) and indoor office environment
- Regularly required to sit stand bend; occasionally lift or carry up to 20lbs.
- On occasion walk or drive to different local sites
- Will necessitate working in busy and loud environments
- Will be exposed to elements like cold heat dust noise and odor
- May need to bend stoop twist and sit throughout the day
