Join our team at Texas A&M University Health Services as a Professional Counselor (I or II) and make a meaningful impact through mental health counseling and outreach services for individuals couples and groups within the university community and actively support student wellbeing through outreach education and consultation. In this role you may also provide supervision for clinical staff and graduate trainees in counseling or mental health care and contributes to the departments collaborative and supportive approach to mental health care. Qualifications
Professional Counselor I
Masters degree in Counseling and Guidance Social Work Counseling Clinical Psychology or other specialty related to job function.
Practical/field placement relevant to college counseling or supervised experience related to job function.
Must be eligible for licensure in Texas as an LPC Associate LPC LMFT LMSW or LCSW. Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining licensure.
The wellqualified candidate for Professional Counselor I will also possess:
Experience in a University or College counseling center
Experience with crisis intervention and risk assessment
Experience in providing outreach and mental health education
Ability to provide bilingual clinical counseling
Training in evidencebased practices
Demonstrates multicultural competence in clinical work
Ability to multitask and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
Commitment to ethical practice and compliance with state regulations and licensure board standards
Professional Counselor II
Masters degree in Counseling Social Work Clinical Psychology or other specialty related field.
LPCs: A minimum of 3000 postlicensure clinical hours completed in no fewer than 18 months under supervision.
LMFTs: A minimum of 3000 postlicensure clinical hours completed in no fewer than 24 months including at least 200 hours of supervision.
LCSWs: At least one year of supervised clinical experience with a minimum of 100 supervision hours and successfully completion of the Texas State Board exam.
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas.Licensure must be maintained for continued employment.
The wellqualified candidate for Professional Counselor II will also possess:
Experience in a University or College counseling center

Some of the Responsibilities Include:
Clinical Services & Licensure Supervision: Provides direct clinical services including individual couples and group counseling. Contributes to outreach and education initiatives for students faculty and staff. Participates in weekly licensure supervision including review of recorded sessions and case consultation.
Administrative Needs: Completes timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with state licensure requirements and departmental policies. Engages in and/or manages case management referrals psychological assessment interpretation and coordination of care. Supports clinical operations through organizational and administrative tasks related to case care.
Supervision & Consultation Provides supervision for Masters/Doctoral practicum students and adjunct supervision for doctoral interns. Offers consultation and guidance to faculty staff students and families. Engages in peer and leadership consultation and seeks clinical guidance in alignment with State of Texas licensure.
Departmental Support: Responds to elevated clinical demand by adjusting workload or schedule as needed. Participates in departmental divisional and university committees or initiatives. Assists with departmental planning and other collaborative responsibilities.
Professional Development & Research:Maintains licensure through continued education. Participates in professional development related to clinical practice and emerging trends in college mental health. May engage in applied research evaluation and dissemination of finds related to mental health and student development.
