Purpose of PositionTo provide longterm coordination of support services to children youth and their families who live in conditions which place the children at risk of not succeeding in school. The Home School Liaison is an integral member of the school and the Family and Community Empowerment (FACE) Team. They play a critical role in fostering communication understanding and support between schools and :Serve as a Liaison/Bridge between the school and the home relevant to the educational or social wellbeing of the the entry of new families to the district and make home visits upon request of the teachers parents or outreach and support on an as needed basis; ie: phone calls to address attendance schedule conferences and coordinate family meetings. Utilizing platforms such as Thrillshare to disseminate important information and ensure clear consistent communication with familiesServe as liaison for schools at parent teacher meetings when requested by administration teachers or a collaborative relationship with families by following up on all conferences. Assist teachers and administration in creating a school climate where parents/families become partners in the education of their in direct service support of students and families to increase academic success. Provide language services (translation interpretation) to support families and educators in maintaining open communication as partners in educationProvide students and families with information and referrals to local and nearby resources. Develop implement and continuously monitor familys referrals and needs. Assist students and their families in overcoming barriers to utilizing services. Coordinate and provide workshops and support groups for students and families in conjunction with district staff and agency representatives. Communicate information to school administrators and staff. Assist during arrival and dismissal of students in order to communicate with families as confidential records for all activities and confidentiality with volunteer/community members. Participate in staff development opportunities within and outside the district.19. Attend conferences seminars and conventions appropriate to district needs and for professional growth. 20. Keep current of family support services and educational development research. 21. Maintain a reliable attendance record. 22. Create bilingual flyers and other materials in a timely manner to communicate school events/reminders with families.23. Perform all other related duties as assigned by building administrator(s) and FACE Team Leadership in accordance with District policies and practices.
