DEPARTMENT: The Institute of Creative and Media Arts
LOCATION: Seated oncampus located in Tiffin OH
JOB TYPE: Fulltime
Tiffin University (TU) was founded in 1888 and offers accredited undergraduate and graduate degrees in business administration criminal justice social sciences creative and media arts humanities education sciences technology and health. The Universitys campus in Tiffin Ohio blends traditional historic and modern buildings creating a vibrant and welcoming educational community for its students faculty and staff. Students can pursue associate undergraduate and graduate programs both on campus and online as well as at Terra State Community College. In addition TU offers Bachelors in Business Administration and Masters of Business Administration degrees in Bucharest Romania and educational opportunities for students from Switzerland and Latin America. The University also provides an online Ph.D. program in Global Leadership and Change.
The main campus in Tiffin is a beautiful 153acre blend of traditional historic and modern buildings that create a vibrant and warm home for an educational community. GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Institute of Creative & Media Arts is seeking a qualified fulltime seated faculty member with an open rank (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) to teach courses in two or more of the following areas: Commercial Voice Commercial Music Theory Popular/Jazz/Gospel Keyboard Songwriting and Arranging. Other responsibilities may include directing a traditional choir pop or jazz vocal group or a gospel music ensemble. This position will begin in August 2025 and is a fulltime benefitseligible appointment.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teaching facetoface classes and private music lessons at the undergraduate level in the Institute of Creative and Media Arts. Instruction areas may include Commercial Voice Popular/Jazz/Gospel Keyboard Commercial Music Theory Songwriting and Arranging.
- Lead a commercial music choral or gospel music ensemble.
- Demonstrate a commitment to working collaboratively and collegially in activities projects and programs that support program growth and student success.
- Attend department school and university meetings serving on university school and other committees as appointed.
- Advise and mentor undergraduate students.
- Supervise internships and individually guided studies.
- Be responsible for other duties as assigned by the Dean.
- Create and promote a positive and supportive work environment.

- Demonstrate excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES FOR THE JOB
Education
- A masters degree in music is preferred. Candidates with extensive professional commercial music and music industry experience may also be considered.
Experience
- Required: Commercial or jazz or piano/keyboard teaching and performing experience commercial or jazz voice teaching and performing experience.
- Preferred: Experience teaching music theory musicianship and arranging experience in recording studio production.
