Position Summary
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders ( CSD ) a CAA accredited program in SpeechLanguage Pathology within the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at La Salle University in Philadelphia PA is recruiting for a fulltime benefits eligible faculty position. The position is a tenure track effective for the January 2025 semester or until filled and will include primary responsibilities of teaching student supervision and advising undergraduate and graduate CSD students. The CSD department is committed to the development of scholars and practitioners in a variety of capacities within the discipline.
Required Qualifications
Earned doctorate or ABD with their degree completed by December 31 2025. CCC SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence in SpeechLanguage Pathology) and be eligible for PA licensure as a speechlanguage pathologist. Commitment to excellence in teaching research and clinical supervision and a willingness to serve our well established innovative program and clinics at the University and in the broader community. Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. or Ed.D. in speechlanguage pathology or a related field (expected completion by December 31 2025). Expertise in one of more of the following areas is preferred: voice/voice disorder resonance and swallowing/dysphagia. Candidates with additional experience in augmentative/alternative communication and/or bilingualism a plus. Teaching experience in the field of communication sciences and disorders or a related field. Knowledge and experience with course subjectmatter evidencebased teaching and learning practices for inperson and virtual platforms and student learning assessment and instruction within the discipline. Familiarity with the principles of clinical education and supervision as well as experience supervising graduate student clinicians. Experience teaching inperson online and in hybrid formats. Experience with use of learning management systems such as Canvas and content tools such as PowerPoint etc. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and a studentinspired approach to teaching for educational excellence equity advocacy and serving diverse students and communities.
