Job Description
Turner Industries Group is looking for a Tool Room Attendant for FullTime work in Decatur AL.
- Must be able to pass a preemployment drug screen
- Benefits include: Medical/Dental/401K/ Vacation & Holiday
- Responsibilities include tool management (tracking inspections repair certifications) trailer management & DOT inspections tool trailer restocking & organizing
- Per diem and relocation is not available for this position; the successful candidate will be a current resident in/near the Decatur area.
General Job Description:
Works under the direction of a foreman receives stores and distributes material tools equipment and products.
Functional Requirements:
Read and sign off on JSA prior to starting shift; stores removes loads and unloads all types of materials tools from storage bins pallets and vehicles that cannot be handles by material handling devices; operates manual or mechanical devices and stocks inventory shelves; assorts and places materials or items on racks shelves or bins according to predetermined sequences such as size type style or color; fills requisitions for materials tools or stock items; records material items received or distributed; may maintain inventory records; performs routine housekeeping tasks to maintain clean and safe work area; performs additional assignments as required; maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Qualification Standards:
- Preferably one (1) to three (3) years of experience in specified skill
- Preemployment qualification test if applicable
- Postoffer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
- Hazard Communication orientation/test
- Turner Industries Group Indoctrination
- OSHA approved corrective eye wear (Z87)
- Job site orientation
- Job site Personal Protective Equipment requirements (hearing protection safety glasses long sleeve shirt gloves steel toe boots etc.)
- Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place
Physical Involvement:
Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders scaffolds structures etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders scaffolds structures etc.; reaching in all directions handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level waist level and/or overhead; carrying objects tools equipment etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction
Mental Involvement:
Employee may be required to do the following: following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work and selecting proper tools; comparing and understanding differences in the size shape and form of pipe spools figures and objects; following oral and/or written directions; reading and writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards
Work Environment Factors:
Location: pipe fabrication facility
Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: uneven ground level; obstructed pathways; work performed at low and/or high elevations; work performed in confined areas
Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather excessive humidity rain etc.; various noise levels caused by tools machinery equipment etc.; potential exposure to chemical substances
