The UHealth System at the University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a full time Medical Physics Resident PGY2in the Radiation Oncology Department.
CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Medical Physics Resident PGY2 participates in structured programs to develop the technical foundations of Radiation Oncology Physics as outlined by Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs (CAMPEP) Inc. Additionally the resident engages in all aspects of therapeutic medical physics related to treatment planning dosimetry treatment delivery patientspecific QA and treatment machine QA in support of patient care and quality assurance within the assigned division(s).
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Coordinates patient care among all members of the healthcare team.
2. Treats patients appropriately based on available evidence sound judgment and patient preferences.
3. Formulates therapeutic plans under guidance authorized medical physicists and certified medical dosimetrists.
4. Uses information technology to support patient care decisions.
5. Develops an understanding of disease states and gains competence in treatment planning machine QA and patient care within the radiation oncology department.
6. Presents topics informally and formally to groups of learners.
7. Maintains effective working relationships with colleagues and department staff.
8. Ensures the provision of high quality and costeffective healthcare.
9. Adheres to University and unitlevel policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Doctorate degree Philosophy (PhD) required
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
Certification and Licensing:
Valid State of Florida Medical Physicist In Training license (MPT) required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures technologies and protocols and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software technology and relevant computer applications.
Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
Other duties may be assigned to the above consistent with the knowledge skills and abilities required for the job.
