Job Description
Job Title: Software Engineer Backend / Infrastructure Engineer Maersk Developer Platform (MDP)
Location: Bengaluru
Job Summary: Join the Maersk Developer Platform (MDP) team and help shape the backbone of our internal developer ecosystem. MDP is a stateoftheart Internal Developer Platform (IDP) designed to streamline application development deployment and scaling for teams across Maersk. As a key member of this team you will work on building scalable systems automating infrastructure and empowering developers to deliver exceptional solutions efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
For Backend Engineer
- Develop and Maintain Backend Systems: Design build and optimize backend services using Java/Spring frameworks with Gradle for build automation.
- Microservice Architecture Implementation: Create and implement scalable resilient microservices that align with best practices and architectural standards.
- Containerized Application Development: Build and deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes to ensure seamless scalability.
- API Development: Design and develop RESTful APIs to facilitate smooth integration and communication between services.
- Collaborate with CrossFunctional Teams: Work with infrastructure engineers product managers and partner with other engineering teams teams to deliver solutions aligned with MDPs goals.
- Troubleshooting and Optimization: Identify and resolve bottlenecks in performance and scalability ensuring highquality code through testing and reviews.
For Infrastructure Engineer
- Infrastructure Automation: Design and maintain highly automated Kubernetesbased infrastructure Azure
- Orchestrate CI/CD Pipelines: Create and optimize continuous integration/delivery pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions.
- Monitor and Improve Infrastructure: Utilize Grafana and other observability tools to monitor system performance and enhance platform reliability.
- Build CloudNative Solutions: Architect cloudnative solutions to support MDPs mission of streamlining developer workflows.
- Collaborate on Platform Development: Partner with backend engineers to integrate infrastructure seamlessly with microservices.
- Enhance Security and Resilience: Implement best practices for securing Kubernetes clusters and ensuring infrastructure resilience.
- Developer Productivity: Build tools and templates to enhance developer productivity and accelerate delivery cycles.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Backend Engineer
- Core Skills: Java/Spring Gradle
- MustHave: Understanding of microservice architecture
- Foundational Knowledge: Docker & Kubernetes (K8s)
- Bonus: RESTful API design experience go
Infrastructure Engineer
- Core Skills: Kubernetes (K8s) Terraform Helm Flux
- Coding Skills: Java and experience in Grafana
- Bonus: Familiarity with GitHub Actions for CI/CD and Java/Spring knowledge go
