We have an opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join their team of staff in thePharmacydepartment.
This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.
Duties of this role include:
- Assist in the preparation and labelling of medicines for inpatients outpatients and discharge prescriptions under appropriate supervision.
- Support the safe supply of medicines ensuring accurate picking packing and distribution to wards and departments.
- Ensure all processes follow local policies and national regulations related to medicine handling and safety.
- Monitor stock levels and expiry dates helping maintain accurate inventory across the pharmacy and clinical areas.
- Receive and check deliveries ensuring correct storage of medications in line with temperature and security guidelines.
- Assist with stock rotation and removal of expired or returned medicines.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Good general education including literacy and numeracy skills.
- Experience in a customer service healthcare or stockhandling role.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under supervision.
- Experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare environment.
- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or willingness to undertake.
- Familiarity with stock management systems or pharmacy software.
- Awareness of medicines safety confidentiality and infection prevention practices.
