Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant also referred to as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). Certified Medical Assistants will support both clinical and administrative tasks such as taking vital signs assisting with procedures updating patient records and coordinating appointments in our orthopedic clinic. Medical Assistants will work under the supervision of physicians and nurses in a fastpaced environment helping to deliver exceptional patient care and ensure smooth clinical operations.
Shifts Available: Days (No Weekends)
Employment Type: Full Time
Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm
Location: Providence Medical Group Kansas City KS (Ortho Clinic)
Responsibilities
** You must be a Certified Medical Assistant from the National Healthcare Association or other nationally recognized organization to move forward in this position. We do offer programs to help you get your Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):
- Greet and prepare patients for orthopedic examinations and procedures
- Record patient history vital signs and orthopedicspecific information
- Instruct patients on preoperative (preop) and postoperative (postop) care and medication regimens
- Help in orthopedic procedures including bandaging splinting and wound care
- Facilitate diagnostic tests imaging tests (e.g. Xrays MRIs) and ensure accurate documentation of results
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms including sterilization and inventory management of medical supplies and equipment
- Schedule patient appointments manage charts and update (Electronic Medical Records) EHR systems with patient information
Qualifications
Before we go any further we do have some dealbreakers. You must have:
- Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assistants Surgical Technologists or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician clinic setting
- Current BLS certification upon hire and maintained current
- Current medical assistant credential from a nationally recognized Medical Assistant Credentialing organization required
Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:
- 1 year experience as a medical assistant in a clinic setting preferred
