WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
We work closely with fellow merchants buyers and crossfunctional teams within Nike Direct; in particular Stores Buying Global Unite Merchandising Planning Allocation Visual Merchandising Brand Marketing and Digital Buying. We also work with finance operations and the insights/analytics teams; relying on business reporting which includes quantitative and qualitative metrics on sales inventory and consumer behaviors.
You will report to the Sr. Manager of the Mens Merchandising team.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Buyer II to be a part of our Nike Unite (Nike Factory Stores) Merchandising Team. A successful Buyer II will thrive and contribute to a positive and progressive team dynamic as well as lead in a way that elevates the total team. Strong sense of business acumen the ability to manage and drive multiple seasons and a deep understanding of trend consumer and marketplace will be critical to this role.
We are looking for consumerists with an affinity for product that enjoy the energy of moving at the pace of retail and the consumer. The candidate should possess proven retail competence and analytical abilities have an understanding of retail environments and bring a consumerist perspective to the team and business.
WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelors degree in Business Merchandising or Marketing or equivalent combination of education experience and training
2 years of experience in footwear or apparel buying and/or merchandising product creation and/or retail in a vertical multibrand or digital environment
Strong affinity for current market trends and how Nike can continue to be a leader in the marketplace
Footwear Apparel Equipment or relevant consumer product buying and/or merchandising experience
Understanding of common retail and/or digital profitbased metrics such as sellthrough turn ASP UPT and others
Ability to contribute to and drive strategy into action
Attention to detail
Ability to collaborate manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
Team first mentality energy giver
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
Inseason youll work closely with the Lead Buyer to help bring the seasonal assortments to life in Nike Direct Value Stores through weekly closeout shopping monthly markdown execution and weekly promotion actions. Youll also support preseason work by managing whiteboards seasonal adoption files and creating slides to support Assortment/Buy Review meetings.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
Support the NSW Apparel Lead Merchant to drive results in season and develop assortment strategies for the future.
Manage monthly markdowns weekly closeout shopping and weekly promotion execution and build new store assortments.
Support the Lead Merchant as they build assortment strategies for future seasons.
Partner communicate and influence key crossfunctional partners (Nike Unite Buyers & LT Planning & Allocation Visual Merchandising Store Operations teams Brand Marketing and Global Unite Merchants) to bring to life the end in mind vision of the assortment to best serve our Nike consumers.
