Job Description
The Department of Radiology at the University of Washington is recruiting for one fulltime (100% FTE) faculty position at the level of Research Associate Professor or Research Professor commensurate with experience with an anticipated but flexible start date of June 1 2025. This recruitment is for a nontenured faculty position. Research Associate Professors and Research Professors are eligible for multiyear appointments that align with a 12month service period (July 1June 30). Faculty with 12month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12month period (JulyJune) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
The targeted area of recruitment is for a new research faculty member of the ImageGuided BioMolecular Intervention Laboratory. This group consists of physicians and medicalrelated professionals with its primary goal of facilitating clinical translation of innovative imaging and interventional technologies. The group is based at the South Lake Union Campus of University of Washington. The NIH Biosafetylevel II wet labs approximately 2000sq ft include 8 biological benches 2 cell culture rooms a chemical room with a fume hood an imagingsurgical suite a microscopy/optical imaging room and a workshop space for manufacturing of interventional devices.
The guiding principles incorporate cathlabbased imageguided minimallyinvasive interventions with molecularcellular imaging. This emerging field is opening new avenues to prevention early diagnosis and effective treatment of diseases through interventional radiology.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the mission of the ImageGuided BioMolecular Intervention Laboratory and to develop and maintain an independently funded research program. This position will also be expected to support teaching research and administrative missions in the Department of Radiology and the UW School of Medicine. All faculty engage in teaching research and service.
The base salary range for this position will be: $9660 $22083 per month ($115920 $264996 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Candidates should meet the following requirements:
- MD/PhD or PhD (or foreign equivalent) in basic or clinical science imaging pphysics and/or engineering computer science or informatics
- Five years of relevant experience post terminal degree including at least two years of postdoctoral training
- Demonstrated record of appropriate peerreviewed research publications
- Demonstrated record of independent research funding
