Job Description
A boutique accounting firm in Brooklyn seeks a motivated Staff Accountant with 12 years of tax experience to join the team and work directly with a diverse portfolio of clients. This role is ideal for a detailoriented individual with a foundational understanding of tax procedures and a passion for providing quality service in a dynamic clientcentered environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns with accuracy and compliance to meet deadlines.
- Assisting in tax planning and advising clients on taxsaving strategies and best practices.
- Conducting research on tax issues and staying uptodate on federal and state tax regulations.
- Preparing financial statements and reports for clients ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
- Assisting with monthend and yearend closing processes including reconciliations and adjustments.
- Supporting client audits by gathering and organizing documentation as requested.
- Communicating regularly with clients to gather information and resolve any issues related to tax and accounting matters.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- 12 years of experience in tax preparation and accounting preferably in a public accounting setting.
- Strong understanding of tax regulations filing requirements and accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
- Proficiency in accounting software and tax preparation tools; experience with QuickBooks is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
