Responsible for developing evaluating and implementing new test/equipment methodologies or products for the laboratory under the intellectual and scientific guidance of laboratory directors and staff consultants. Responsible for: 1) Improvement of existing methods or implementation of new technology of proven validity; 2) Maintain complete and accurate documentation of data generated and work performed; 3) Organizing new method validation data preparing data for publication and peer review and participating in formal presentations within the institution; 4) Aiding in the investigation installation evaluation and purchase of laboratory equipment instrumentation reagent systems and other specialty items and 5) Participates in the training of laboratory staff residents and students in principles of methods and application within the laboratory as needed.

Bachelors or Masters degree in Medical Technology or a related field. Minimum 3 years of laboratory experience.
Additional Skills and Qualifications:
Excellent leadership organizational written and verbal communication and problemsolving skills. Selfmotivation and attention to detail. Ability to reproduce a reference method using available procedures without supervision. Demonstrated analytical and scientific competency with development and/or validation of lab techniques or procedures. Proficiency in software for word processing database management statistical analysis and presentations. (e.g. Word Excel PowerPoint). Maintains a record of scientific presentations and peerreviewed publications.
License or Certification:
Certification by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or other certification pertinent to the laboratory field may be required depending on the laboratory specialty and prevailing regulatory requirements.
