As the Project Accountant you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of architectural projects from inception to completion. You will work closely with project managers architects and other team members to ensure accurate financial reporting budget monitoring and cost control.
Responsibilities:- Financial management ofproject budgets forecasts and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Creatingaccurate and timely financial reports for project stakeholders including project managers executives and clients.
- Reviewing and process vendor invoicesin accordance with vendor contracts and billing schedules.
- Cost control including monitoring project expenditures identifying costsaving opportunities and implementing strategies to ensure projects remain within budget.
- Preparing and reviewing client invoices in accordance with project contracts and billing schedules.
- Tracking client payments addressingoverdue accounts and managingcollections.
- Ensuringcompliance with internal accounting policies and GAAP standards.
- Maintaining organized project files and documentation related to financial transactions contracts and change orders.
- Collaboratingwith internal teams and external stakeholders to address financialperformance.
Requirements:- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field.
- Proven experience as a project accountant preferably 3 years with accounting for an architecture or construction firm.
- Strong understanding of project accounting principles cost management and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Sage or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards (e.g. GAAP AIA contracts).
