Job Description
BronxWorks helps individuals and families improve their economic and social wellbeing. From toddlers to seniors we feed shelter teach and support our neighbors to build a stronger community. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise the Case Management Housing Child Care and Youth programs in a tier II family homeless shelter.
- Oversee all program components including staff orientation training and development; client assessment service plan development and progress; relationships with other communitybased organizations; and components specific to program
- Administer personnel policies and procedures
- Ensure all programs meet contractual goals and reporting requirements
- Develop regular communication with contract managers for programs supervised act as liaison with funding source.
- Hold monthly individual supervision meetings with staff and group meetings as necessary
- Monitor Staff performance including performing case review staff evaluations and structured observations
- Participate in and encourage staff to become involved in agency events.
- Provide guidance and supervision to the Case Management Supervisor the Childcare Coordinator and the Recreation Coordinator.
- Serve as the supervisor for two Housing Specialists/Client Navigators at the facility.
- Provide supervision to the LMSW Client Care Coordinators who will be working with the families in a therapeutic capacity.
- Manage staff in the Early Childcare Education and After School Programs for children at the facility.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Residence Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
- LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) required
- Minimum of 2years previous supervisory experience required.
- Bilingual English and Spanish language proficiency highly preferred (majority of clients at the site speak Spanish).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite Excel and other standard business technology is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to stand walk or sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to climb five flights of stairs if required to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork.
- Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
- Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
- Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather including inclement weather if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
