Job Description

The Community Learning Center Coordinator provides support services to potential students regarding educational opportunities available in the learning center. The coordinator communicates with postsecondary partner institutions and organizations (including the Indiana College Network) business and industry local organizations and students. The coordinator schedules courses at the CLC based on community needs with the partner institutions proctors exams and provides assessment testing. The coordinator also works with economic development leaders workforce development needs and with other community leaders and government officials to assist in bringing the resources of Ivy Tech and partner institutions to build partnerships with area employers community organizations and various agencies.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides oneonone assistance to students (preadvising; registration; connects students to appropriate campus contacts; helps resolve issues between student and campus etc.)
  • Provides test proctoring/assessment testing.
  • Coordinates course schedules with partner institutions.
  • Marketing/community engagement activities (promotes CLC services; presents to various groups; assesses educational needs administers student surveys etc.)
  • Prepares participation reports (monthly activity reports beginning and endofsemester reports etc.)
  • Networks to generate leads for Workforce Consultant(s) that leads to employer partnership meetings and increased training opportunities in the community and at the learning center.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelors degree from an accredited college or university is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One to two years experience related to education community development economic development and marketing and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience delivering exceptional customer service skills.
