OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST

The position is located in the Bureau of Digital Business Solutions (DBS) in UNESCOs Administration and Management Sector.

Digital technologies play a key role in the fulfilment of UNESCOs mandate and the delivery of its programme. The Bureau for Digital Business Solutions (DBS) is at the core of this implementation serving as the Secretariat for the Organizations digital transformation governance and thus facilitating the development and evolution of the OneUNESCO Digital Strategy. As a key partner in the implementation of this strategy the Bureaus work includes the design and deployment of coherent and integrated corporate solutions to support the delivery of UNESCOs programmatic outputs while ensuring that all digital/IT services remain functional and operational at all times and information management digital/IT risk mitigation and cybersecurity measures are in place. The objectives and outputs of the Bureau are highly serviceoriented requiring business engagement customer focus and innovative ways of working are needed that provide both effectiveness and efficiency in solution delivery built on bestinclass principles of user experience design and digital/IT architectures.

Located in the Transaction Platforms and Integration (TPI) Unit and under the direct supervision of the Head of Solution Design and Implementation Section (SDI) the IT Integration Specialist will be responsible for designing implementing and maintaining integration solutions within the Organizations IT ecosystem. This role involves working with integration platforms particularly MuleSoft to ensure seamless data flow and system interoperability across enterprise applications and services.

    Long Description

    The major activities of the role are as follows:

    • Integration Design and Development: Design and develop integration solutions using MuleSoft mainly between Salesforce and SAP and other platforms as and when needed. Knowledge of other integration platforms such as SAP BTP is desirable; implement APIs web services and data integration workflows to connect onpremise and cloud applications; ensure best practices are followed for secure scalable and efficient integrations; create and maintain documentation for integration designs configurations and procedures.
    • Integration Support and Maintenance: Monitor and troubleshoot integration processes identifying and resolving any issues perform regular maintenance and updates on integration platforms to ensure their optimal performance; collaborate with the IT support teams to manage and resolve incidents and service requests related to integrations.
    • Stakeholder Collaboration: collaborate with crossfunctional teams (development operations and business teams) to understand integration requirements; liaise with external vendors and partners for integration support and implementation; provide technical expertise and guidance to stakeholders in selecting appropriate integration solutions and platforms.
    • Platform Expertise and Continuous Improvement: stay uptodate with new features and updates in MuleSoft and integration methodologies and architectures; continuously identify opportunities to optimize integration processes and improve system performance; drive automation and innovation in integration solutions to enhance productivity and reduce manual intervention.
