The Licensing Analyst is the first point of contact and liaison with the public other departments and levels of government agencies and associations. Responsible for operating the main switchboard for the Traffic Safety Services Division (TSS) and transferring or responding to public inquiries regarding Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors (TEC) program and services.
You will be responsible for:
- Providing accurate and timely information to stakeholders on programs and services
- Administering vehicle inspection program licensing and inspection vehicle statuses and railway approval activities
- Participating in the ongoing planning development and improvement of the team processes and systems
Where necessary you must make appropriate referrals to other departments or agencies that may assist clients on matters outside the scope of the Department. The position is also responsible for the administrative activities of the Vehicle Inspection Program issuance of railway operator approval certificates issuance of inspection technician and inspection facility licenses vehicle status updates eFacility user account maintenance inspection entry/correction and decal maintenance and sales. The Licensing Analyst is required to keep up to date with current legislation policies and procedures as they relate to TSS programs and services thereby maintaining a high level of quality service.

Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma PLUS 3 years of related experience or equivalent as described
Equivalency:
- Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of: 1 year of education for 1 year of experience or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education
For Example:
- Related 1 year certificate PLUS a minimum 2 years of experience
- Related 2year diploma PLUS a minimum 1 years of experience
- Related minimum 3 years of experience
Minimum recruitment standards outline the minimum education and experience required for appointment to a job classification.
Refer to successful candidate MUST also have:
- Proficiency in computer programs and software including word processing spreadsheets presentations reports templates and forms.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as diplomacy.
- Ability to efficiently access navigate and extract relevant information from multiple databases information systems and other data sources to support client issue resolution.
- Ability to critically analyze client issues by interpreting data policies and legislation to identify root causes and assess available options.
- Ability to resolve client inquiries by providing accurate information that is compliant with applicable policies procedures and legislative frameworks ensuring decisions are sound consistent and aligned with organizational standards.
Assets:
- Indepth knowledge of the transportation industry (both commercial and private) and the Traffic Safety Act and its regulations; specifically the Vehicle Inspection Regulation
- Detailed knowledge of the Railway (Alberta) Act and its regulations
- Indepth knowledge of the information management and technology systems used to administer the programs (e.g. eVIP eFacility ROADS TSIS TRAVIS CORES MOTRIS etc.)
