Sr. Associate HR Risk Specialist

As an HR Risk Specialist in Capital One Canadas Human Resources team you will be responsible for working with business partners to identify and consult on potential risks to Capital One applying your risk/process management and analytical skills to drive wellmanaged risk activities. HR Risk Specialists at Capital One are highly motivated risk and process management professionals with excellent analytical organizational and communication skills. A successful risk specialist operates from a foundation of knowledge about the Line of Business with whom they are working laws/regulations processes associated controls good risk management and risk mitigation practices. They are forward thinking quick to adapt and technologically adept.

Responsibilities:

This individual will have a high level of exposure across HR supporting horizontal risk management. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated risk or process management professional with excellent problem solving integrative thinking prioritization and communication skills. Additionally building winwin partnerships with multiple stakeholders both within and outside of Canada HR while adapting to and managing change in a fastpaced dynamic environment are default essentials for this role. Other responsibilities include:

  • FUSE management (Capital Ones compliance software): Provide FUSE support to Canada HR and the Risk Operations team according to Operational Risk Management Standards; Learn and understand new functionality; Attend user meetings; Lead demos & change management

  • Support the Canada HR Incident management process and event/issue management in FUSE; Perform QA oversight facilitate assessments and update systems of record

  • Divisional Computer Based Training (CBT) Oversight: Assignment and monitoring of quarterly compliance CBTs

  • Control Execution Oversight for Risk Office Governance Activities: Provide direct oversight throughout control lifecycle including creation execution monitoring and remediation of ineffective controls in accordance with Enterprise & Data Governance Standards

  • Own and Improve Process Health of RMAP Control Coverage & Monitoring for Canada HR against Compliance Policy: Deliver seamless end to end visibility into applicability requirements control coverage control mapping and measurement to goals

  • Compile reporting for management and the Quarterly HR Risk Report

  • Ensure independent escalation of risk management gaps issues and concerns to executive management

  • Identify opportunities to improve risk management practices and develop solutions to perfect risk management eliminate waste and deliver an exceptional customer experience

  • Drive containment and remediation of process breakdowns in conjunction with compliance legal and business process teams

  • Participate in risk forums and contribute to continuous improvement of risk management practices

  • Participate in and execute other special projects for the risk office on a periodic basis

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma GED or equivalent certification

  • At least 1 year of experience in project process program or risk management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree

  • At least 3 years of experience in process management

  • At least 3 years of experience with Business Process Management (BPM) Six Sigma or Lean process improvement techniques

  • At least 3 years of experience working in Risk Management

  • At least 3 years of experience in Human Resources

  • At least 1 year of experience with Control Management

  • Strong problemsolving and conceptual skills

  • Strong written and verbal communications

  • Experience with Governance Risk and Compliance software tools
