Job Description

Our client school in Milan offers a uniquely enriching international education that blends innovative teaching practices with a designled approach to learning. Set across multiple campuses serving children from Nursery through to Secondary the school provides a caring inclusive and stimulating environment where students are encouraged to be curious creative and collaborative. The curriculum spans the EYFS IPC Cambridge Primary IGCSE IB Middle Years Programme and IB Diploma Programme forming a coherent educational journey that supports intellectual physical emotional and ethical development. Enquirybased learning computational thinking and realworld problem solving are central to the schools pedagogy fostering independence and critical thinking. While English is the main language of instruction Italian students benefit from an adapted national curriculum recognised by the Ministry of Education allowing them to sit Italian state exams and preserve their cultural identity. International students are also encouraged to engage with and appreciate Italian language and culture. We are looking for an enthusiastic Physics Teacher for our Secondary School from September.

Promote the mission and philosophy of the school

  • Ensure that planning preparation recording assessment and reporting are of the highest quality and meet the varying learning and social needs of students
  • Be flexible and adjust to the needs of the school actively contributing to the school development plans and growth.
  • Demonstrate thorough curriculum knowledge teach and assess effectively.
  • Be able to teach Physics to Secondary aged students
  • Use the student tracking and monitoring process to advance student learning and enhance professional practice in line with the schools aspirations and priorities.
  • Take personal responsibility for professional development.
  • Effectively communicate the schools narrative being an ambassador for our school at all times

LEARNING AND TEACHING

  • Teaching Physics up to IGCSE level and up to IB higher level.
  • Inspiring students to be passionate curious ex c ited learners.
  • Setting consistently high standards.
  • Develop effective approaches to learning in students.
  • Monitoring evaluating and developing teaching.
  • Planning effective teaching programmes which provide exemplary learning opportunities.
  • Identifying and supporting individual learning needs.
  • Maintaining high levels of behaviour that encourage learning.
  • Use baseline data to set ambitious targets for student achievement.
  • Effectively using homework and co curricular learning opportunities;

PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS

Qualification/ Training:

  • Teaching Qualification QTS/PGCE Teaching Qualification QTS/PGCE
  • Bachelors degree in Physics Bachelors degree in Physics
  • Proven track record with at least two years teaching experience of Physics

  • Experience of teaching A Level or IB Physics (preferred)
  • Good classroom practice and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrable evidence of innovating and adapting curriculum to engage children and enable them to reach their potential
  • Working in partnership with parents
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to teach different age ranges and English proficiency levels
  • Ability to engage children and enable them to perform to high expectations
  • Use of iSAMS Desirable (but will be taught to successful candidate)
  • Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development Desirable
  • Confident global citizen or a willingness to become one Desirable
  • Understand the complex and demanding environment of an international school
