Position Title: Database Engineer

GC Associates requires Database Engineers including hardware and software engineers to research design develop and test computer hardware and software programs. Hardware includes computer chips circuit boards computer systems and related equipment such as keyboards modems and printers. Software engineers develop the software systems that control computers. Hardware engineers work exclusively with computers and related equipment supervising the manufacturing and installation processes. Software engineers develop new software systems and incorporate new technologies in a rapidly growing range of applications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research design develop and test computer hardware and software programs.
- Supervise the manufacturing and installation of computers and related equipment.
- Develop new software systems and incorporate new technologies.
- Apply principles of computer science engineering and mathematical analysis to design develop test and evaluate software and systems.
- Analyze users needs and design construct test and maintain computer applications software or systems.
- Solve technical problems and develop algorithms to address programming issues.
- Utilize programming languages such as C C Java Fortran and COBOL.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of computer hardware and software systems.
- Ability to supervise manufacturing and installation processes.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C C Java Fortran and COBOL.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze user needs and develop appropriate software solutions.
Levels and Requirements:
Level I: ENGINEER COMPUTER I
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with a concentration in computer science.
- Experience: No required professional experience.
Level II: ENGINEER COMPUTER II
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with a concentration in computer science.
- Experience: 3 years of professional experience in computer design software development or computer networks.
