21.01 25.21 USD Per Hour

Working Location:

Sacramento: North Sacramento Center (InPerson Position)

Working Hours/Shift:

FT Alternate Work Schedule 4 days 10 hours per day AM Shift

What you bring to SBHG (qualifications):

  • High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED HiSET etc.) required.
  • Personal experience as a consumer foster parent or parent of a child in the child welfare probation or mental health systems.
  • One (1) year of fulltime experience performing nonprofessional consumer directed services in a mental health health care or other social services agency / organization serving people with disabilities preferred.
  • License or Certification:
  • Peer Support Specialist Certification: successful completion of the certification process within one year of employment (preferred).
  • Valid California Drivers License.
  • First Aid certification from persons qualified by agencies including but not limited to the American Red Cross.

How you will make a difference (job overview):

This position is responsible for working with families which includes caregivers parents and natural supports to help represent their best interests. The Peer Partner Counselor participates in various treatment team meetings and actively participates in the development of care plans. The Peer Partner Counselor demonstrates the ability to conduct a strengths interview with family members; tell their own story to engage families; build on family strengths; communicate clearly; complete documentation and assist other team members in coordinating services.

Division/Program Overview:

  • Communitybased program
  • Flexible Integrated Treatment (FIT) provides services and support to children and youth ages 021
  • Individual Family and Group Therapy rehabilitation services and skill building crisis intervention Child Family Team meetings medication support and linkage to community resources
  • Walkins welcome (Tue 8:30 am 12:30 pm and Thu 1:305:30 pm)
  • After Hours OnCall

In accordance with California law the salary grade for this position is 21.01 31.51. Starting pay within the grade is determined based on experience internal equity and other factors permitted by law.
