Overview
Job Skills / Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the nightly activities of custodial staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness across campus buildings.
- Perform and assist with specialized floor care duties including stripping waxing buffing and burnishing floors as scheduled.
- Train new custodians on cleaning procedures safety protocols and equipment use.
- Conduct nightly inspections of work areas to verify completion and quality of tasks; provide feedback and corrective guidance when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with college safety policies and OSHA standards particularly in chemical handling and equipment operation.
- Maintain an inventory of custodial supplies and equipment; report shortages and request replacements as needed.
- Communicate effectively with facilities management regarding staffing scheduling maintenance issues or supply needs.
- Act as the primary contact for any custodial emergencies or issues during night operations.
- Assist in planning and executing special projects (e.g. event cleanups semester turnovers deep cleaning tasks).
Additional Information / Benefits
Schedule is from 8:00PM 4:30AM SundayThursday
Pay is weekly on Fridays
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years of custodial experience including floor care.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of stripping and waxing techniques equipment use and safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively in a night shift setting.
- Excellent communication organizational and problemsolving skills.
- Physically able to perform custodial tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs and operating floor machines.
Work Environment:
- Indoor and outdoor campus environments.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals machinery noise and varying temperatures.
- Requires standing bending and repetitive motion throughout the shift.
