Primary Objectives
The Resident Assistant I (RA) is a key linelevel position responsible for providing the Lavan Martin Assisted Living Facility (ALF) residents with assistance in their daily living skills. The Resident Assistant is responsible for carrying out duties as established in each residents Plan of Care documenting appropriately as required and following all policies and procedures of the facility. This job description is not an allinclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of this position. PCI Employees are expected to perform all duties and responsibilities necessary to meet the goals and objectives of applicable programs and departmental objectives as assigned.

Essential Functions
  • Assists residents with bathing dressing grooming toileting incontinence care etc.
  • Obtains and documents resident vital signs weight and height measurements.
  • Effectively communicates pertinent information about residents to coworkers during shift change.
  • Immediately reports all accidents and/or injuries to the Administrator or designee.
  • Provides transportation for residents to medical appointments and/or various other activities.
  • Communicates medical information and concerns between the ALF Nurse Manager and healthcare providers.
  • Performs light housekeeping duties.
  • Works closely with dietary staff to serve resident meals and snacks.
  • Ensures that all required reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assists residents with passing medications according to directions by physician or provider and documents according to procedures.
  • Communicates effectively with residents to ensure their needs are being met.
  • Obtains resident feedback regarding services provided and informs the Nurse Manager and/or administrator.
  • Performs administrative duties which include greeting residents keeping medical records answering the telephone assisting with making appointments or handling correspondence.
  • Maintains a positive physical and social environment for residents while fostering independence dignity and safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate person.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have completed Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) and maintain current certification.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of employment experience working with the senior population is preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain First Aid certification and CPR certification or obtain certifications within ninety (90) days of the official date of hire in this position.
  • Ability to work odd and irregular hours as needed.
  • Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
  • Ability to travel and participate in required training leadership development and other events.
  • Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully.

  • Must possess the skills knowledge and experience to perform duties.
  • Must be an effective communicator and an organized and proficient time manager.

  • Ability to remain engaged until assignments are completed and overcome obstacles.
  • Takes accountability for performance and results.
  • Open and honest communicator and follows policies and procedures.
Compensation and Benefits
  • The starting pay will depend on factors such as experience level and skillset.
