As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology team you will be a key member of an agile team responsible for designing and delivering marketleading technology products in a secure stable and scalable manner. This role offers an exciting opportunity to convert business concepts into userfriendly web application features that resonate with our users. Your innovative thinking and technical expertise will aid us in delivering engaging digital experiences and modernizing our inhouse web applications.
Job responsibilities
- Senior Handson Lead Engineer who can drive technology solutions for solving complex business & engineering problems.
- Design implement and maintain high quality code for webbased applications (frontend/backend) ensuring scalability security resiliency and seamless integration with other inhouse platforms.
- Coach junior developers participate in engaging codereviews and ensure best engineering practices are followed through implementing necessary governance and controls.
- Define and implement the technical architecture and infrastructure strategy.
- Support continuous improvement investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting for architectural review.
- Must also be able to effectively communicate the project status at various points of the development process to stakeholders and upper management.
- Need to be good team player to collaborate technical design idea across different geographies.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with product managers stakeholders and current application users to translate concepts into technical designs.
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years applied experience.
- 6 years experience in fullstack Java web application development.
- Strong Java/ J2EE design coding testing and debugging skills.
- Expertise with Spring Framework Spring Boot Sprint Batch/Security Hibernate and REST services.
- Expertise with Web UI skills (ReactJS/JQuery/JavaScript/HTML/CSS) with proven experience in ReactJS particularly.
- Expertise with traditional RDMS SQL Databases.
- Hands on experience developing and deploying applications (Microservices) to the cloud / Kubernetes platforms.
- Experience with Agile and TDD development methodologies.
- Experience in DevOps / SRE setup build deployment integration code management and similar tools like Jenkins Maven automated deployment etc.
- A natural gogetter with a proactive attitude ready to tackle challenges and drive projects forward.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate design concepts and collaborate effectively with a globally located team.
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Excellent understanding of usercentered design principles and best practices in usability (e.g. SALT design system).
- Experience and good understanding of JavaScript testing frameworks (e.g. JEST Vitest Playwright etc.).
- Exposure to public cloud technologies (AWS DBX).
