Journalists working across English Language Output are the backbone of our programmes and online service. This role will be mainly based in television news working on BBC Wales Today which is one of the most watched television programmes in Wales. The programme has bulletins throughout the day including on weekends. You will also be expected to work closely with colleagues working on radio and online with some scope to move into other areas with training.
As a Journalist working on Wales Today you will produce some of our bulletins across a range of shifts including weekends. You will also work with reporters and correspondents to bring their stories to air in an engaging and informative way. There will also be opportunities to develop your own stories for broadcast and possibly some studio presenting.
You will be expected to have worked in news either in broadcasting or online and have knowledge of the issues affecting Wales. The job comes with a lot of responsibility and you will be called upon to make editorial decisions often with limited supervision and with deadlines looming.
