Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Tower Hamlets to assist with the appointment of a Senior Youth Worker on a 3month contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 24.05 31.49 per hour

Summary:

The Senior Youth Worker will support the Team Manager in the operational delivery of universal Safe Spaces for young people across the borough. This role includes supervising a team of youth support staff ensuring highquality inclusive services are delivered to meet the developmental needs of young people aged 1119 and up to 25 with SEND. The role contributes to the Tower Hamlets strategy to reduce youth violence vulnerability and exploitation through accessible engaging and safe environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage Youth Support WorkersinCharge across universal safe space sessions.
  • Coordinate staffing rotas ensuring compliance with staffing ratios and boroughwide coverage.
  • Codevelop youth programs that are assetbased coproduced and reflective of local youth needs.
  • Promote inclusive practices and ensure active engagement of vulnerable groups.
  • Serve as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and ensure all safeguarding protocols are adhered to.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or professional qualification in Youth Work Youth Justice Probation or Social Work.

Experience:

  • Proven experience delivering universal youth services particularly in urban highneed areas.
  • Experience applying inclusive antidiscriminatory practices and improving outcomes for marginalized groups.
  • Experience in developing training programs and mentoring staff.

Essentials:

  • Safeguarding training and enhanced DBS with barred list check (Adult and Child Workforce) required.

Please note:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
